hey ya'll, I've been working on this song in D. Would you double-check
my transposing for the chorus, please:

D C A?
B? E E7
A D A D
A E? A-->G

Larry Sparks in the man. Great version of this song on his newish album
"40" with Allison Krauss and Dan Tyminski backing him up. Chords in
verse in D if anyone wants them:

D F#maj C7 G
Em G D
C G D

And I think the bridge in the second verse (Ah she was pretty...) is:

C G D for all 3 lines

Thanks!

Well, was waiting for some of the more knowledgeable folks to post a reply
for ya, but since none have, I'll give it a crack.
In the key of G (transpose as necessary), the chords for the chorus would be
G F C
I'm like a John Deere tractor, in a half vacant field
E A A7
Tryin' to plow a furrow where the soil is made of steel
D G D G
Oh I wish I was home, where the bluegrass grows
D A D
And the sweet country girls don't complain
I'm pretty sure that's the correct chords. Give me a holler if you need
help transposing it (Not sure whether you have heard the Judds verson, or
Larry Sparks. I think Larry Sparks did it in D or Db). Hope this
helps....

I'd always heard this as "a half-acre field".
